The Archives & Local Studies Service is on the 1st floor of the William Patrick Library. It is free and everyone is welcome to visit.
The historical records in the Archives cover 500 years of East Dunbartonshire history and include records of local councils, schools, cemeteries, organisations, families and individuals. There are also books about local history, maps, newspapers and photographs.
The staff are there to help you find what you are looking for and answer your questions. You can also email or phone them and they will do up to 30 minutes of research for you. There is also space for studying and free WIFI access.
You can find out about the history of your family, and the history of towns and villages, streets, buildings, people, events, industries, transport, historic sites, sport and leisure.
