East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action is the home of Befriending, the Third Sector Interface, and the Volunteer Centre for East Dunbartonshire.
Befriending aims to combat social isolation in the community by matching up people experiencing isolation with volunteer befrienders.
Every local authority area in Scotland has a Third Sector Interface, which provides a single pointย of access for support and advice for the third sector within local areas.
Volunteering makes an important contribution to the local economy and the local community, and EDVA’s role within that is to recruit volunteers, to advertise opportunities, and to provide training, policies and procedures for volunteers and organisations where necessary.
