Merkland Local Nature Reserve, in Kirkintilloch, is a haven for wildlife and a popular spot for people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town: woodland, wetland and grassland, with open water & burns. There is a low-level 1.1 mile walking loop that takes around 20 minutes. Most of the paths are fully accessible to those with walking aids. Free entry.
